Dynamic surface tension as a key parameter in cleaning process control
The requirements for stable and reproducible cleaning processes are increasing across all industries, particularly in areas with high quality standards such as the semiconductor industry, medical technology and the automotive supply sector. A key parameter for process reliability is the dynamic surface tension, which allows direct conclusions about the surfactant content in cleaning and rinsing baths.
Expansion of the application technology team
In order to meet the increasing demand for reliable surfactant control, SITA is specifically expanding its application technology team. In addition to technical customer advice and measuring device development, SITA is strengthening its own application laboratory for free sample analyses and Tensiometer support.
New to the team is Benjamin Pietsch, a materials scientist with extensive practical experience in analysis and cleaning technology. He supports customers in the selection of suitable measurement methods and in the evaluation of measurement results directly in the process environment.
‘I look forward to supporting our customers with practical expertise in surfactant control and working with them to develop solutions for complex requirements,’ explains Benjamin Pietsch.
Continuous monitoring of the bath concentration is particularly crucial for two-component cleaners, which are widely used today, continues Pietsch.
‘The dynamic surface tension is a practical measured value for reliably monitoring the surfactant content and keeping the cleaning effect constant.’
SITA is experiencing growing demand, particularly in the semiconductor industry, where inline tensiometers are used for real-time monitoring in rinsing and cleaning baths. The need for precise surfactant monitoring for product and process optimisation is also increasing in inkjet development and in the area of functional coatings.
parts2clean show 2025 and basic seminar QS Rein 2026
In addition to laboratory and direct support, SITA offers a comprehensive range of information and training courses, including webinars, explanatory videos and specialist lectures. The parts2cleanshow, at which SITA will present the tensiometers and innovations for Cleanliness inspection in October 2025, remains an important meeting point for the industry. A special highlight in the coming year will be the QS Rein basic seminar from 4-5 March 2026 organised by the German Industrial Parts Cleaning Association (FiT), at which SITA will once again be a speaker.
'The seminar is an excellent opportunity for users to learn about the relationships between surfactant content, cleaning effect and process monitoring in a practical way - with concrete practical advice for implementation in their own processes,' emphasises Benjamin Pietsch.
